The MS4640A Series VNA command parser responds to either Native SCPI commands or to the legacy Anritsu Lightning-model command set. The MS4640A VNAs also support many HP/Agilent 8510 programming commands.
Regardless of the setting, the MS4640A VNA parser will respond to commands from either source.
Scripts written in older versions of the Lightning command set or in the HP/Agilent 8510 command set may need editing to be fully compatible with the VNA. Not all Lightning and HP/Agilent commands are supported.
Processing and response times will be improved if the Remote Language setting matches the majority of the sent commands.
If necessary, you can change the VNA default GPIB language from Native to Lightning or HP/Agilent 8510x as follows:
1. Navigate to the Remote Lang. menu:
• This menu is described in greater detail in the User Interface Manual – 10410-00307.
• MAIN | System | SYSTEM | Remote Interface | REMOTE INTER. | Language Selection | REMOTE LANG.
REMOTE LANG. (REMOTE LANGUAGE) Menu
2. Select the interface language being used.
3. The menu auto-returns to the REMOTE INTER menu.
