Import/Export Example
This section describes how to convert a file captured on an MS2090A signal analyzer and convert it to .WVD format and then export it to an MG3700 series signal generator. (WVD is the MG3700 default native format.)
Use the Convert mode to display the Import/Export menus as shown in Figure: Convert Menu.
Convert Menu
1. Convert Mode: Use this mode to convert file types.
3. Anritsu DGZ (IQ Capture) Radio Button: Press to engage this file format.
4. Load 64QAM File: Load file.
5. Export to Anritsu WVD (MG3700) Radio Button: Press to export to the MG3700 series signal generator.
6. “Export to” or Save IQ Data Buttons: Press to initiate transfer process.
Import File
Because of the variety of files that can be used in the Convert mode, the top portion of the Convert window is grayed. To import a file for this example, open the 64QAM.dgzm file that is included in the sample files described in the section Create a folder to store the Modulation Analysis example file. Click Modulation Analysis opens a Browser dialog. Press OK to download the files into the user created file. Here, the Modulation Analysis example files have been loaded in the folder: Documents >Anritsu > IQ Files as shown in Figure 4‑2. Three file sets are downloaded, the IQ raw data file (.dgz) and metadata file (.dgzm) for each 32APSK, 64QAM, and P14DQPSK file..
Import .dgzm File
Export to MG3700 Series Signal Generator
Use the Export File Type window. Press the Export to MG3700 series signal generator button to display the dialog shown in Figure: Export Parameter Entry Dialog. Type the pattern name as this will be the file name to reference when exporting from the MS2090A to the MG3700. In the example below, the Pattern name entered is 64QAM-C. The package is the folder name that the 64QAM-C file is stored into. The Sample Rate automatically displays the Sample Rate shown in the file description column of the Import File Type window. Press OK.

The conversion status bar in the top right of the Convert mode window shows the conversion progress as shown in Figure: Conversion Status Bar.

Upon completion of the conversion process, the MG3700 Transfer dialog is displayed as shown Figure: Transfer Entry Dialog.
Transfer Entry Dialog
1. IP Address: Enter the IP address of the MG3700.
2. Receiving Instrument Model: The Instrument is recognized and is displayed in the dialog as shown.
3. Playback Center Frequency: By default, the playback center frequency is the same as the Center Frequency in the file description column of the Import File Type window. This can be changed if preferred by the user.
4. Initiate pattern playback after transfer is complete checkbox: Check this box to display the signal after the transfer is complete. Left unchecked will store the file. In this case, the file will be stored as 64QAM-C in the Convert IQproducer folder.
Export Signal Display
Connect MS2090A Field Master Pro (or Remote Spectrum Monitor) to a MG3700 series signal generator.
During the transfer process, the captured signal on the MS2090A is converted to a file that can be played back on the MG3700 signal generator. Therefore, the FSK signal on the MS2090A shown in Figure: Export MS2090A DGZ File is converted to a file that can be played from the MG3700 and is displayed on the MS2090A as shown in Figure: Import MS2090A WVD File. The conversion is complete.
