The Amplitude Modulation menu provides amplitude modulation of the output signal using a modulating signal from both the internal AM generator and an external source. The signal generator has two AM operating modes: Linear AM and Log AM. In Linear AM mode, sensitivity is continuously variable from 0 %/V to 100 %/V. The amplitude of the RF output changes linearly as the AM input changes. In Log AM mode, sensitivity is continuously variable from 0 dB/V to 25 dB/V. The amplitude of the RF output changes exponentially as the AM input changes.
