Signal Setup
E1 Signal Setup (1 of 2)
Test Mode
This signal setup has no submenu keys.
Line Code
HDB3
This submenu key selects High Density Bipolar 3 (HDB3) line coding.
AMI
This submenu key selects Alternate Mark Inversion (AMI) line coding.
Tx Clock
Internal
This submenu key selects the internally generated Tx Clock.
Recovered
This submenu key selects a clock signal that is recovered from the receive path.
External
This submenu key selects a clock from an external reference that is applied to Ext Trigger In.
Connector:
RJ48, 120 ohms
This submenu key selects the 120 ohm RJ48 connector.
RJ48, 75 ohms
This submenu key selects the 75 ohm RJ48 connector.
(Option 52 only)
BNC, 75 ohms
This submenu key selects the 75 ohm BNC connector.

Rx Input:
Terminate
This submenu key selects terminate mode. Terminations on the receive side can be 75 ohm or 120 ohm, or can be bridged for higher resistance.
Monitor
This submenu key adds +20 dB gain to the receive path.
Bridge
This submenu key sets up a bridged connection with >1000 ohms.
Framing:
PCM30, PCM30CRC, PCM31, and PCM31CRC
These submenu keys select the framing format.
 
 
Payload Setup
E1 Payload Setup
Payload Type:
2.048Mb
Select this payload type to test all user channels, the entire data stream (excluding TS0, and TS16 when CAS is active).
Nx64kb, 64kb, 16kb, and 8kb
In these payload types, the Channel Selection Dialog Box allows selection of one or more channels for testing, from 1 through 31. Press the Edit Channel submenu key to open the Channel Selection Dialog Box.
Use the arrow keys or the rotary knob to scroll through the channels. Press the Select Channel submenu key to select a channel or to clear an existing selection. Then press the Enter key or the Rotary Knob to enter the selection. If the Back submenu key or ESC is pressed, then any changes to channel selection are ignored, the dialog box is closed, and the Payload Sub Channel submenu is displayed.
Nx64kb
In this payload type, any number of channels can be selected, including all or none. Because multiple channels can be selected, the Channel Selection submenu offers two additional submenu keys: Select All Channels and Clear All Channels. Refer to Figure: E1 Configuration Submenu Keys.

Use this payload type to select a single 64 kb channel.
16kb
Use this payload type to select 2 consecutive bits within a single 64 kb channel.
8kb
Use this payload type to select a single bit within a selected 64 kb channel.

Pressing this submenu key opens the Channel Selection Dialog Box and the Channel Selection submenu.
Other Channels
When this configuration line is selected, the Other Channels submenu is displayed.
All Ones
Press this submenu key to set all unselected channels to “all ones.”
Idle
Press this submenu key to set all unselected channels to “idle.”
