A: The S820E has a special standby mode feature. Pressing the power button once briefly will put the analyzer into standby mode as opposed to shutting down completely. Standby mode retains all current settings and simply shuts down non-vital circuitry. This instrument state draws very little power and thus the instrument may be left in this mode while traveling between sites. Pressing the power button briefly restores the instrument to operating conditions.

To fully power off from the standby mode, first momentarily press the power button to restore operation, then press and hold the power button until the “Shutting down…” message appears.

To fully turn power off from the active on state, press and hold the power button until the “Shutting down...” message appears on the display screen.
