On-site User Level Calibration (Option 18)
The on-site user level calibration menu calibrates the RF power level accuracy to –60 dBm. Power levels below –60 dBm are not calibrated but uses the Anritsu factory power level calibration table to maintain power level accuracy. Option 18 is not available for the MG36271A model.
Equipment Required
• USB Power Sensor MA24330A (10 MHz to 33 GHz). Use when calibrating a MG36221A.
• USB Power Sensor MA24350A (10 MHz to 50 GHz). Use when calibrating a MG36221A or MG36241A.
• 01-201 torque wrench set to 8 in/lb.
• 2000-2166-R, MG36221A/41A Option 18 kit consists of:
• 1010-145-R, DC to 43.5 GHz, 50 Ω, 5W, K(f) to K(m) attenuator.
• 33KFKF50C, DC to 43.5 GHz, 50 Ω, K(f) to K(f) adapter. Use when calibrating a MG36221A.
• 34VFKF50A, DC to 43.5 GHz, 50 Ω, V(f) to K(f) adapter. Use when calibrating a MG36241A.
Level Calibration
The on-site user level calibration uses internally calibrated RF power level tables of the USB MA24330A/350A power sensor to calibrate the power level accuracy/flatness of the MG362x1A.
To Calibrate the Internal Level Cal
To calibrate the power level accuracy/flatness of the MG3621A/241A:
• See MG36221A ALC Level Calibration.
• See MG36241A ALC Level Calibration.
• See ATTENUATOR Level Calibration to calibrate to –60 dBm.
Caution 
The output power of the MG362x1A can exceed rated power levels of test equipment. Use the 1010-145-R fixed attenuator when prompted in the internal level cal program to protect the RF test equipment from internal damage caused by excessive output power.

LEVEL CAL Menu
MG36221A ALC Level Calibration
The ALC level cal menu is used for all models with Option 2 and without Option 2. Use the calibration setup shown in Figure: MG36221A Internal Level Calibration Setup.
Press: ALC | LEVEL CAL | ALC
1. Use a torque wrench to connect the adapter and 20 dB, 5W, fixed attenuation pad to the Rubidium RF output connector and to the MA24330A power sensor.
2. Connect the USB cable to the MG36221A front panel or rear panel USB Type-A slot.
3. Press START LEVEL CALIBRATION on the ALC menu shown in Figure: LEVEL CAL Menu.
4. Follow the prompts to complete the level cal.
5. If Option 2 is installed, continue to ATTENUATOR Level Calibration.
MG36221A Internal Level Calibration Setup
1. MG36221A
2. 1010-145-R, DC to 43.5 GHz, 50 Ω, 5W, K(f) to K(m) attenuator.
3. 33KFKF50C, DC to 43.5 GHz, 50 Ω, K(f) to K(f) adapter or
34VFKF50A, DC to 43.5 GHz, 50 Ω, V(f) to K(f) adapter (if using the MA24350A 50 GHz power sensor)
4. MA24330A, 33 GHz power sensor or MA24350A 50 GHz power sensor

MG36241A ALC Level Calibration
The ALC level cal menu is used for all models with Option 2 and without Option 2. Use the calibration setup shown in Figure: MG36241A Internal Level Calibration Setup.
Press: ALC | LEVEL CAL | ALC
1. Use a torque wrench to connect the adapter and 20 dB, 5W, fixed attenuation pad to the Rubidium RF output connector and to the MA24350A power sensor.
2. Connect the USB cable to the MG36241A front panel or rear panel USB Type-A slot.
3. Press START LEVEL CALIBRATION on the ALC menu shown in Figure: LEVEL CAL Menu.
4. Follow the prompts to complete the level cal.
5. If Option 2 is installed, continue to ATTENUATOR Level Calibration.

ATTENUATOR Level Calibration
Use the ALC level cal menu as described in Level Calibration to calibrate the first calibration steps for units with Option 2. Then use the ATTENUATOR menu shown in Figure: ATTENUATOR Menu to calibrate to power levels to –60 dBm.
Press: ALC | LEVEL CAL | ATTENUATOR
For the MG36341A
1. Use a torque wrench to connect the MA24350A USB power sensor RF connector directly to the MG362x1A RF output connector.
2. Go to Step 5 below.
For the MG36221A
3. Use a torque wrench to connect the MG36221A RF output connector to the K(f) to V(f) adapter.
4. Connect the RF V(f) end of the adapter to the RF V(m) connector of the MA24350A.
5. Connect the USB cable to the MG362x1A front panel or rear panel USB type-A slot.
6. Press START ATTENUATOR CALIBRATION on the ATTENUATOR menu shown in Figure: ATTENUATOR Menu.
7. Follow the prompts to complete the level cal.
