The IEEE-488.2 commands are defined in the IEEE-488.2 standard and must be implemented by all SCPI compatible instruments. The mandated commands listed in Table: IEEE 488.2 Mandated Commands are identified by the asterisk (*) at the beginning of the command keyword. These commands are used to control instrument status registers, status reporting, synchronization, and other common functions. The IEEE 488.2 required common commands are described in detail in the first half of IEEE Commands starting with IEEE 488.2 Commands.
