This chapter gives a brief overview of the Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) analyzer and its measurement capabilities for Field Master series, Site Master series and Remote Spectrum Monitor instruments. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a starting point for making WCDMA measurements. This chapter describes measurement setup, including selecting the analyzer and setting up frequency, bandwidth, amplitude, span, and markers. After measurements are taken, refer to Saving and Recalling Measurements for a description of saving, recalling, and managing measurement files. For detailed information about other specific measurements, refer to the appropriate section in this chapter.
A basic understanding of the measurement concepts presented in Spectrum Analyzer measurement guide (10580-00447) is recommended before performing the measurements in this chapter. WCDMA measurements include the use of additional functions beyond frequency, span, amplitude, and marker functions.
